The first time they meet she breaks his nose. He doesn’t realize what’s happened until he’s sprawled on his back, the cold of the concrete seeping into his skin through his thin jacket. He stares foolishly up at the sky for several seconds before the pain registers in his dazed brain. The incident, as he decides to call it, lands them both in the dean’s office. His nose is stuffed with tissues that a rather unsympathetic Takashi had given him between fits of hysterical laughter, and she is slouched two seats away, steadfastly trying to glare a hole in the too cheerful poster on the opposite wall.
He considers confronting her for a moment, but the remembrance of the look she had given him when he had stumbled to his feet, blood staining his shirt and his head spinning, floors him every time. She hadn’t looked angry, at least not entirely or as much as he expects she should have, she had looked sad. She had stared out at him and the pain th
Tales of the Ugly sisterBeing the ugly sister is possibly the worst existence known to woman kind. Here's why, first off, no one will admit you are. They tell you "Oh sweetie no you're beautiful too" at least that's what their mouths say. Of course you can tell their eyes are lying,it's always in the eyes. Then there's the knowing, the constant sting of standing next to her and knowing the people looking your way are NEVER looking your way. Or the sting of your community going after her when she's not interested, but you present yourself, you say "Here I am,I'm pretty aren't I? The noise shattered the peace and sent bright flashes across her vision. She
grinned, far too engaged in her duel with the large man before her her to pay it
any notice. A sudden set of twin shouts snapped her head to the right. Her eyes
widened as she saw her partner fall. She rushed to him, ignored the fight raging
around them. The woman kneeled by his side, pressing his now torn shirt to the
gaping wound in his stomach. "Shh baby, you'll be fine," she crooned reassuringly.
A flash and deafening boom knocked her off blance and sent her flying over the
edge of the ship.Towards the freezing water below. "No!Dem!" she screeched,
reaching her hand out in vain for some sort of hand hold. She hit the water and
the choking darkness overtook her."
